In continuing efforts to try and prevent an outbreak of COVID-19, both Ross and Pike County Sheriff Departments are making some changes to protect staff members in their office from possible exposure to COVID-19.
ROSS COUNTY
Effective March 17th:
The sheriff will suspend Concealed Handgun Carry Permit Licensing, all background checks (B.C.I. and local). There will be no Sheriff’s Sales conducted. You will still be able to request and receive copies of incident reports, however those reports will be emailed or sent via the U.S. Postal Service.
The lobby at the complex will be opened Monday thru Friday from 8am to 4pm and closed all other hours including weekends. Visitors will use the keypad intercom on the wall just outside the double wooden doors that lead into the Law Complex. You will be directed to dial 444 to speak to the receptionist who will assist you. During the hours the lobby is closed as listed above, visitors are asked to use the keypad intercom that is located in the 24 hour jail entrance hallway half way down the hall on the right hand side. Dialing 222 will connect you to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch, dialing 111 will connect you to the Chillicothe Police Department Dispatch.

PIKE COUNTY
Effective March 17th:
The sheriff will suspend Concealed Handgun Carry Permit Licensing, all background checks (B.C.I. and local) and fingerprinting. You can call the office to schedule an appointment for these services and you will still be able to request and receive copies of incident reports, however those reports will be emailed or sent via the U.S. Postal Service.
The Pike County Sheriff Office lobby will remain open, all visitors are to use the phone on the wall to make contact with the dispatcher who will be able to assist you through the service window.
