Acton Resigns As Director of Ohio Department of Health

(24/7 News Source) -- Dr. Amy Acton is stepping down as Director of the Ohio Department of Health. Governor Mike DeWine announced the news during today's Coronavirus update. Acton, who became a fixture of DeWine's frequent COVID-19 briefings, will now serve as the governor's chief health advisor. Lance Himes will serve as interim director while DeWine searches for Acton's replacement.

Any Ohioan who wants to be tested for COVID-19 now has the green light to do so. Governor DeWine is lifting the requirement that people must show symptoms or be at high risk of contracting Coronavirus in order to get a test. As of today, more than 40-thousand people statewide have contracted the virus.
