Vinton County receives $1.1-million grant to increase broadband access

Rural Vinton County will be getting an Internet boost. The Vinton County Commissioners have received a $1.1-million grant to increase broadband access throughout the county's northern areas, including Wilkesville. The grant will improve the Internet connections of hundreds of Vinton County homes and businesses, many of which don't have adequate access. The county’s Development Director Terri Featherolf tells WSAZ there is no specific timetable for constructing the new towers, but the grant must be completed by September of 2023.
