Chillicothe Council Committee: Legislation on Commercial Vehicle Parking

A request for legislation to regulate recreational, construction, commercial, truck and trailer parking on city streets is under consideration by the Chillicothe Safety Service Committee.

The legislation, requested by Chillicothe City Council President Bruce Arnold, could mirror a law on the books in Lancaster, which was provided to the committee as an example of existing community law. Lancaster's ordinance restricts parking of those types of vehicles along city streets or alleys, except in cases of loading and unloading. Non-compliance is considered a minor misdemeanor.

The request for the legislation comes after the noting of parking issues with recreational and commercial vehicles and trailers, and there is currently no existing ordinance in the City of Chillicothe that deals with the issue.
