Adena Regional Again Recognized as One of America’s 250 Best Hospitals

Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC), located in Chillicothe, today announced that it has achieved the Healthgrades 2021 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award™. This marks the third consecutive year in which ARMC has been recognized by Healthgrades as being among America’s 250 Best Hospitals.

The distinction places ARMC in the top five percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for its superior clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems.

“To once again be named by Healthgrades as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals reflects our vision ‘to be our region’s most trusted partner in healthcare’,” said Jeff Graham, Adena President and CEO. “This recognition speaks to all our providers and caregivers and their commitment and integrity towards an excellence in delivering compassionate, safe, quality care. Our healthcare heroes have been tireless in their care delivery efforts to ensure patients receive the care they need, not only around Coronavirus, but still meeting the everyday care needs of our communities. Reaching a level to be among America’s 250 Best Hospitals is special, but sustaining that excellence takes focus, innovation, teamwork and a dedication to doing what is always best for our patients.”

Recipients of the Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award stand out among the rest for overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of care. During the 2021 study period (Medicare Fiscal Years 2017-2019), these hospitals showed superior performance in clinical outcomes for patients in the Medicare population across at least 21 of 32 most common inpatient conditions and procedures - as measured by objective performance data (risk-adjusted mortality and in-hospital complications).

"Amidst the Coronavirus crisis, it has never been more important to acknowledge the hospitals that remain committed to delivering the highest quality care,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals recognizes organizations across the U.S. for their ongoing pursuit of the highest healthcare standards and exceptional outcomes.”
