Drug Trafficking Ringleader Convicted in Pickaway County

A drug trafficking ringleader was convicted in Pickaway County.

According to Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey, after a two-day jury trial in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court, 48-year-old John Lamar Kolle of Columbus was found guilty of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both first degree felonies.

Kolle was sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison, with a 5-year tail. Sheriff Hafey reports he was the ring leader of one of the drug trafficking organizations that was indicted through the “Operation Ice Up” case from 2019.

Sheriff Hafey thanks the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Pickaway County Prosecutor’s Office "for all their relentless work on this case."
