Local 18th and 19th Century Re-enacting Showcases This Weekend and Next

The best way to get authentic with 18th and 19th century re-enacting, locally, is to visit the Trade Fair sponsored by the Sons of Liberty muzzleloading rifle club. This annual event for newbies and veterans has always been in January, but this year it's been backed off to this weekend.

Want to try being someone from early Ohio history? This is a great opportunity to just browse and see all that is available. Hats, stockings, firearms, hunting frocks, blades, books, belts, jars, fiber arts...everything.

It's at Canter's Cave 4-H Camp, off US 35 halfway between Richmond Dale and Jackson. Hours are 9-5 today and 9 to 3 Sunday.

Then next weekend is their annual Spring Rendezvous, with modern visitors welcome during open hours in the tent camp along Cave Run.

Part of the c1750s to 1890 Trade Fair sponsored by the Sons of Liberty muzzleloading rifle club from 2010.
