"Artists of Color" Opens at Pump House Center for the Arts

The "Artists of Color" show opened at the Pump House Center for the Arts Thursday evening.

Among other artists, Stuart Beverly filled a wall and more with his oil paintings. He says he is serving the community by painting portraits and adding them to his display of art. He said it started with him painting friends' families, their dogs, cats...and then he realized his mission.

He says the more you serve, the more you get back.

Stuart's almost 30 paintings will still be there during the "Juneteenth" celebration at the Pump House June 19th, marking when slaves in the deep south finally heard they were free in 1865.
