Chillicothe Man Suffers Head Injury in Motorized Bicycle Crash on US 50

State Patrol Troopers were called to the scene of an injury crash involving a motorized bicycle along US 50 in Ross County, Tuesday.

According to the Patrol’s Chillicothe Post, the crash took place shortly before 8:00 p.m. in Scioto Township when a northbound modified, motorized Huffy bicycle, operated by Richard Bailey, 53, of Chillicothe, struck a curb.

The Patrol says the bike’s front tire then struck a drainage grate, causing the crash.

Mr. Bailey is reported to have suffered a head injury and a broken arm. He was taken by Scioto Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Patrol reminds cyclists to wear helmets and other protective gear when riding.
