The organizers of the annual Ernie Blankenship Radio-Telethon for the Highland County Society for Children and Adults says they collected more than $92-thousand during this year’s telethon, held June 23rd.
The Society’s Rocky Coss says this year’s telethon raised a total of $92,883.50. Judge Coss says $4,327 of that amount was raised in the weeks following the telethon, with more donations still expected.
The largest donation this year was made in memory of Bob and Ann Bagshaw by their family in the amount of $3,000. The Bagshaws were big supporters of the telethon prior to their passing.
Next year, the telethon will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
