"Dreams From Ohio" in the Pump House October

A new artist who is better known for his politicking is the focus of this month's show at the Pump House Center for the Arts in Chillicothe. Kevin Coleman was at the opening Thursday and spoke with him.

David Pepper is better known as the chair of Ohio Democratic Party, but the Cincinnati resident now has about 35 acrylic paintings hanging in the Pump House.

He says he is a lawyer and has written books, but after a back injury, he happened to be in art shop, and impulsively asked about painting supplies.

He says he took up painting to fill his time with something exciting, and that his lesson is to take the time to try new things.

Most of his Pump House works are Ohio scenes, including favorite hikes...but all are relaxing themes to counteract the stress of his job.

The show runs until October 31st.
