Clinton Co. Man Convicted of Felonious Assault in Shooting of ODNR Officer

A hunter in Clinton County who shot and seriously injured an officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources has been convicted of felonious assault.

The officer was shot while investigating a deer poaching complaint last December.

Brian Liming of Caesar Creek was also found guilty of tampering with evidence and two misdemeanor charges.

Clinton County prosecutors say Liming shot Kevin Behr, a 25-year veteran of the department.

According to court documents, Liming fired a shot that was intended to chase out a deer, but instead the bullet struck the ODNR officer.
