State Unemployment Rate Down As State Economy Shows Signs Of Recovery

Ohio's economy is showing signs of recovery. Last week, more than 700 fewer state residents filed jobless claims according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. During the week of December 5th through the 11th, 183 fewer unemployment applications were filed.

The latest figures show Ohio's unemployment rate at slightly above five percent.

During the same period, the national unemployment rate was pegged at 4.6 percent.
