Highland Sheriff's Deputy of More Than 20 Years Passes Away Unexpectedly

The Highland County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its Deputies.

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports that Deputy Ryan Miller passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 14th at home.

Deputy Miller had served as an OPTA certified deputy, a corrections officer and dispatcher for the Highland County Sheriff’s Office for more than 20 years. The cause of Deputy Ryan Miller’s death is unknown at this time.

In a release on Tuesday, Sheriff Barrera said Deputy Miller "will be greatly missed by his peers and the community."
