Two California men are facing a felony drug charge as the result of a traffic stop in Madison County.

State Patrol Troopers stopped a 2015 Nissan Altima with California plates for speeding along Interstate 70 last Thursday afternoon.

A Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a search of the car revealed 4.4-pounds of heroin worth an estimated $80-thousand.

The driver, Jose Romero, 56, of Bell, California, and passenger Brandon Bautista, 20, of Las Angeles, have been charged with first degree felony possession.
