Chillicothe Council took action on three engineering committee issues Monday evening. Kevin Coleman reports.
The residents of Brewer Heights have been waiting to see one of their two gateway walls rebuilt after a driver crunched it trying to avoid a deer July 4th. Engineering committee chair Terrell Fairrow says procedures had to be followed before he could see his ordinance pass to pay for its reconstruction.
He also got a $4,000 appropriation to replace a utility pole across from former Mt. Logan School. He said the wooden pole on the south side of Main Street was leaning and was a safety hazard, so the city will put a new pole in concrete. Fairrow said council had to make the appropriation because it was not anticipated in the department's budget.
He also saw to it that ODOT will help with the frequent inspection of bridges in the city limits with no cost to the city.
