The Ross County NAACP will present its Jubilee Day 2023 celebration on Sunday, January 15th.
Jubilee Day commemorates the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln, which formally freed enslaved people in the United States on January 1st of 1863.
The Ross County NAACP’s Jubilee Day will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15th at the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ at 123 West Main Street in Chillicothe.
The speaker for the Jubilee celebration will be Elder Mike Maughmer, Pastor of the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ.
