Woman Suspected of Impaired Driving in Crash that Injured State Trooper

The woman accused of driving under the influence and crashing into an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper near Columbus is being held on a $1-million bond.

Alea Weil, 29, of Marietta, GA, appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon, accused of driving impaired and colliding with the rear of Circleville Patrol Post Trooper Adrian Wilson's parked cruiser along Interstate 71 in Grove City on Monday, February 13th. Trooper Wilson had been removing debris from the roadway when Weil's Toyota struck the rear of Wilson's patrol cruiser, pushing it into the Trooper and leaving him with serious injuries.

Wiel was also injured in the crash which took place shortly before 11:00 a.m. Monday near Grove City. She and Trooper Wilson were each taken to Grant Medical Center.

Court documents show officers found fentanyl inside of Weil's car following the collision.
