One Dead, One Injured in Highland County Two-Vehicle Crash

One person is dead and another is in the hospital following a two-vehicle head-on crash in Highland County.

According to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Danny O’Cull, 74, of Hillsboro, was traveling westbound along State Route 138 in his 2004 Chevy Silverado around noon on Tuesday, March 7th, when his truck veered across the center divide and collided head-on with an eastbound 1992 Chevy Silverado operated by Christopher Easter, 62, of Leesburg.

Easter is reported to have succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at the scene. O’Cull was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, the Paint Creek Fire Department, the Highland County Coroner’s Office, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
