Chillicothe Council on SR 772 Cost Overruns, Street Closure Streamlining

Chillicothe Council had a short session with a few absences among them and the administration.

They passed an ordinance on third reading to avoid needing to run every requested street closure for events through council.

On first-reading, they passed an appropriation to pay the City’s $23,000 share of the ODOT Paving Project on State Route 772, plus $20,000 for project cost overruns because of price increases. Council member Julie Preston said this repaving was timed to occur after Columbia Gas did their trenching work downtown on Main and South Paint and side streets.

Also passed was an appropriation of almost $10,000 dollars from insurance to replace street lights that were damaged in a crash.
