Couple Charged with Child Endangering Following Monday Search Warrant

A Chillicothe couple is facing charges of child endangerment following the execution of a drug-related search warrant at a home on the city’s east side.

The warrant was served on Monday, May 22nd by Chillicothe Police with assistance from a local SWAT unit at a home located at 368 East Seventh Street following a months-long investigation.

Several subjects were located inside the residence including three minor children ranging in age from 15 years to 8 months.

The search of the home resulted in the discovery of more than 2.8 ounces of suspected fentanyl, as well as 5 grams each of crack cocaine and methamphetamine.

The home’s residents, identified as Andy and Chelsea Weaver, were each charged with three counts of child endangerment and transported to the Ross County Jail. Additional charges against the couple are pending BCI lab results on the seized narcotics.

A blender found in the couple's bedroom was also seized during the search, which according to investigators, Mr. Weaver admitted to using to “cut” the suspected fentanyl.

A third person, identified as Mark Melott, was located hiding in a bathroom of the home during the warrant’s execution and was subsequently arrested on a charge of drug possession.
