Open Registration for Ross County Good Neighbors Football Camp

-

On Saturday, June 15th and Saturday, June 22nd, open registration will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church for the Good Neighbors Football Camp. Registration is limited to 140 student athletes who currently expect to participate in one of the seven Ross County high school football programs.

-

The camp will be run by Concordia University-Ann Arbor Head Coach Joshua Schumacher, his coaching staff, and senior players. In addition to helping athletes develop skills and improve teamwork, Coach “Schu” and his staff will connect the lessons learned on the field to service in the community; emphasizing Christian faith, character, education, self-discipline and accountability.

-

Students will meet at Herrnstein Field as guests of Chillicothe High School on June 26th and 27th for this two-day event. On Wednesday, after a noon meal for the participants, there will be an opportunity to assist the Scioto Valley Youth League as they prepare for their 2019 football season at Mary Lou Patton Park.

-

Our Savior Lutheran Church launched The Good Neighbors Project in 2017 to provide opportunities for service to our neighbors and to be Christ in word and deed in Ross County, Ohio. The Football Camp is one way to demonstrate active faith and trust in God.

Others in the community who wish to volunteer or make donations should contact Deaconess Deanna Cheadle at seohiodcs@yahoo.com or by phone at 740-775-2470 (office) or 740-804-1026 (mobile).
