Southeastern Rolls Past Adena for Undisputed SVC Grid Crown

For the second time in the last three years, the Southeastern Panthers have run the table to a (10-0) regular season and won the SVC Gold Football for the outright conference title at (7-0), winning at Adena 66-37.

Panthers quarterback Lane Ruby accounted for 497 of Southeastern's 556 total yards. Ruby ran for 315 yards on 25 carries, scoring six touchdowns. He also threw 9/12 for another 182 yards. He also ran for four two-point conversions and threw for another. Ruby's TD runs were from 55, 85, 11, 7, 1 and 45 yards. Mikey Nusser added 46 yards rushing on 14 carries, scoring two TD's.

Adena ran the ball well in the loss, rushing for 262 yards, with Preston Sykes connecting on 5/8 passing for another 66 yards. The Warriors were led by Nate Throckmorton's 109 yards running on 10 carries, scoring one TD. Logan Ben nett caught two TD passes off Sykes' throws, and Sykes scored once while rushing for 48 yards in 6 carries.

The Warriors were hampered by three fumbles on their kick-off receiving team, with the Panthers later scoring off each turnover. Southeastern's offense scored nine of their eleven possessions. SE had one turnover. The Panthers committed 9 penalties for 65 yards, while Adena was flagged 3 times for 35 yards.

OHSAA Football Computer expert JoeEitel.com, shows Southeastern hosting Miamisburg Dayton Christian in their Division 6/Region 24 Week 1 Playoff Game. Paint Valley will likely finish second, and host Grandview Heights, a team they beat at Chillicothe High School in Week 1 last year. Adena is expected to finish third in the region and host Mechanicsburg.

All of these games will be played Friday, November 8th at 7pm. As per our longstanding policy, 94 Country WKKJ will broadcast the post-season games of the SVC regular season champion, as long as they remain. This year is unbeaten Southeastern.

Official OHSAA playoff pairings will be released by the Ohio High School Athletic Association on Sunday morning.
