Watch Ashley Cooke Cover Rascal Flatts' Carefree, Energetic Summer Anthem

Ashley Cooke covered an iconic anthem by Rascal Flatts when she took the stage on Tuesday evening (June 2) in Nashville, Tennessee.

Cooke took the stage with “Summer Nights,” a vibrant, sun-soaked single that Rascal Flatts released on the group’s 11-track sixth studio record, Unstoppable, in 2009. The band’s Gary LeVox — one third of Rascal Flatts with Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney — wrote “Summer Nights” with late songwriters and producers Brett James and busbee.

Cooke teamed up with Rascal Flatts on a new version of “Summer Nightson the trio’s Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets. The album arrived in June 2025, marking 25 years since the band’s debut. Rascal Flatts released one new track, “I Dare You” with the Jonas Brothers, plus nine collaboration versions of previously-released hits. Cooke appeared on the project, along with Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and more.

Cooke also performed “baby blues,” unreleased anthem “Dance Around It,” and more during her performance Tuesday evening in Nashville. Watch her cover the Rascal Flatts anthem here:
