A Ross County man was talked out of taking his own life Tuesday night, with the help of the county sheriff's office.
Ross County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Malone Road at approximately 9pm Tuesday in reference to a male threatening suicide.
Deputies arrived and spoke to a family member that said a 43-year-old male had locked himself in a detached garage and was threatening to commit suicide with a firearm. A Sheriff’s Office Negotiator was called to the scene and was able to get the subject to surrender peacefully.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Disorderly Intoxication and Inducing Panic. The subject will have a mental health evaluation after a sobriety hold at the Ross County Jail.
