Ross County Spelling Bee Winner

A Huntington Middle Schooler won the Ross County Spelling Bee Thursday.

7th grader Rachel Liggett won by correctly spelling the winning word: "IDIOM" (An "idiom" is a phrase that doesn't translate well.)

And Rachel's strategy? "Oh yeah, and if it sounds like this, it's probably what that is... no strategy!"

Christina Martin organizes the spelling bee.  She said there were 17 participants from all county school 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Martin is grants and programs administrator for the Ross and Pike Educational Service Center.
