Members Vote to Dissolve Chillicothe Downtown Associates

After a more than 45 year run, the Chillicothe Downtown Association is no more.

In a special meeting last Thursday, members voted to dissolve the long standing downtown advocacy group due to waning membership and declining necessity. DTA's responsibilities will now fall on the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce.

"The Chamber will basically be doing the same work the DTA was doing but it will be doing it under the chamber's new downtown committee," said Chamber CEO, Randy Davies.

The Chamber picked up much of the group's work in January of 2017. Davies said the decision was based on there being no need for two separate entities dedicated to downtown revitalization.

The Chillicothe Downtown Association was established in 1971.
