A defensive battle played into the favor of the Big Walnut Eagles Tuesday night, as they shutout Unioto's Lady Shermans 1-0 in the Division 2 Regional Soccer Semi at Bloom Carroll High School.
(17-3) Big Walnut scored with a little more than 13 minutes to play in the first half, then held on to advance to the regional finals later this week.
The SVC co-champ Lady Shermans end their season at (14-3-2)
In Division 3 Girls Regional Semi action, Lynchburg Clay scored in the 76th minute to beat Wheelersburg 1-0, to advance to Saturday's regional championship.
