While the Ross County Humane Society works in conjunction with the county dog warden, they are not the same entity. Jenn Thomas of the Humane Society says many people misunderstand their involvement with the dog warden's office to mean they are the same organization.
The Humane Society is a "no-kill shelter", which means they do not euthanize simply to make room for more dogs. If you are looking to adopt a dog, Thomas says to call the Ross Humane Society.
Dog licenses for 2018 go on sale each December, many many dog owners ignore that law. Thomas says that creates other problems in that if you lose your pet, it makes it much harder for that dog to be reunited with its owner without the identification.
