Ohio's US Senators Plan Hearing on Pension Crisis

Ohio's two U.S. Senators are planning a rare joint hearing at the statehouse on what they're calling a pension crisis. Senators Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown will both host a rare field hearing at the Ohio Statehouse. Officials say the spotlight will be on finding a solution to a pension crisis that immediately threatens 1.3-million Americans.

Both lawmakers point to plans maintained by the Teamstars, United Mine Workers, Ironworkers, Southwest Carpenters, and Bakers and Confectioners pension plans, which Portman and Brown say are on the brink of failure.

The hearing is set for Friday afternoon.
