Be Safe & Secure in Ohio's State Parks

Camping at one of Ohio's many state parks is a traditional summer getaway for many families, but it is wise not to let your guard down.

Lieutenant Jeff Baker has been with the division of natural resources for 22 years.  He says "smash and grabs" top the list.

ODNR officials say its easy for families to get a false sense of security knowing you're in a state park.  But situational awareness is the best protection you can have:

Know your surroundings.  Never go into a secluded area.  Keep a cell phone on you at all times - and charged.  And, lock away your valuables.
