Mother Found Competent for Trial in Infant's Death

The mother of an infant male found dead in a well has been found competent for trial on charges including aggravated murder in Scioto County. Jessica Groves and her husband, Daniel, pleaded not guilty in the death of their son, Dylan.

A trial is scheduled for January.

-

The baby’s body was found in a 30 feet deep well in Otway, where the couple lived.

-

Immediately after Dylan’s birth, he was removed from his parents’ custody because the baby was born with drugs in his system, officials said. Dylan was later returned to his father.
