Authorities in Pickaway County are reporting the self-inflicted death of an inmate held in the county jail.
Pickaway County Sheriff Robert Radcliff on Monday, September 30th, said a corrections officer was conducting a routine check of the county jail and found that inmate, Matthew A. Bahr, 36, of Reynoldsburg, OH, had committed suicide by hanging himself with his bedding.
Circleville EMS were called to the scene and corrections officers began resuscitation efforts on Mr. Bahr, but he was later pronounced deceased by the Pickaway County Coroner at Berger Hospital.
The death remains under investigation.
