Ross County Commissioners' Monday Agenda

The Ross County Commissioners meet in regular session Monday at the County Courthouse. The first appointment begins at 10:00 a.m. with the Commissioners set to hear from reps with First Capital Enterprises regarding county building cleaning contracts. At 11:00 a.m., the Commissioners host a guest in regard to Ross County potentially becoming a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.

It refers to U.S. localities that have adopted laws or resolutions to prohibit or impede the enforcement of certain gun control measures perceived as a violation of the Second Amendment. It includes universal gun background checks, high capacity magazine bans, red flag laws, assault weapon bans and more.

This comes as gun discussions on new gun control measures continue in the Ohio legislature. Last year, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine called for the development of a Red Flag law and expanded background checks following the mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso.
