Funeral Procession to be Held for Former Pickaway Sheriff Dwight Radcliff

A private funeral service is scheduled to take place at noon Wednesday, May 13th for former Pickaway County Sheriff Dwight Radcliff, who passed away last Wednesday at the age of 87.

The private service will be held at Ohio Christian University’s Maxwell Center, located at 1476 Lancaster Pike in Circleville. The public however can come out to watch a funeral procession comprised of Pickaway County law enforcement vehicles following the service.

The procession will make its way through the City of Circleville by way of Main Street, Pickaway Street and Franklin Street, with a brief stop in front of the former sheriff’s residence at 121 West Franklin Street. From there the procession will then move along onto Scioto Street, and then to Main Street and Court Street. It will conclude at Forest Cemetery where the former sheriff will be honored with a traditional police burial.

Wednesday’s procession will also be accompanied by sheriff’s cruisers from across the state. They’ll be gathered in the parking lot of Big Lots along US Route 22.

Current Pickaway County Sheriff Robert Radcliff asks those who come out to watch the procession to wear a mask and maintain social distancing protocols.

The family tells the Chillicothe Gazette that a public memorial service for the late former Sheriff Radcliff is being planned for a later date.
