Modified Pickaway County Fair Approved

Pickaway County Public Health and the Pickaway Fair Board have collaborated regarding upcoming events at the fairgrounds, including this June’s county fair.

Pickaway County Public Health, the Fair Board, Pickaway County Sheriff’s office and Pickaway County Commissioners office met Thursday to provide guidance for events scheduled in the upcoming weeks.

After thorough review and discussion of a modified fairgrounds operational plan, in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Governor Mike DeWine’s office, all entities present came to a mutual agreement on the modified fairgrounds plan.

All entities were supportive of the hog show and Pickaway County Fair and simultaneously supportive of Pickaway County Public Health Department’s protective measures and efforts to ensure public health and safety.

Pickaway County Public Health will continue to work with the Fair Board to ensure that all recommendations are followed.

Pickaway County Commissioner Brian Stewart took to social media to say the county “is going to lead the way for Ohio in showing how to safely hold a County Fair as scheduled.”

Stewart says: “Great collaboration between the commissioners, the Fair Board, & the Health Department. The plan developed in Pickaway County is designed to comply with all 50 (!) of the state's mandatory regulations governing county fairs.”

Stewart acknowledged that the Pickaway County Fair is going to "look and feel a bit different, but it's still going to feel like a Fair."

Pickaway County Fair officially opens June 22nd.
