Ohio State Senator Fired From ER Job After COVID-19 Question

(Columbus) -- An Ohio lawmaker who made controversial comments about African Americans has been fired from his job as an emergency room doctor.

State Senator Steve Huffman of Tipp City asked a health official if the "colored" population has a higher COVID-19 infection rate because they don't, quote, "wash their hands as well as other groups."

TeamHealth, which employed Huffman as an ER physician, said his remarks are inconsistent with their values.
