New Lexington Tames Mustangs 41-6

The Panthers of New Lexington lived up to the pregame billing Westfall coach Brad Smith gave, as they went through the air for most of their scores, while shutting down the Mustangs offense in a 41-6 Division 4 Football Playoff win, Saturday.

New Lex quarterback Logyn Ratliff threw 23/30 for 231 yards and 5 touchdowns, while running for another. He accounted for most of their 318 total yards.

The Panthers QB tossed TD passes of 42, 39, 40, 48 and 12 yards and run a TD fom one yard out.

Westfall's lone score late in the game on a Marcus Whaley 21 yard TD pass. Whaley was 8/21 passing for 98 yards and ran for 68 yards on 11 carries.

The Mustangs also had 4 turnovers, all interceptions.

Westfall falls to (3-3) on the season, dropping from the post-season. No word yet on whether they will schedule any regular season games, as permitted by OHSAA.

New Lexington improves to the next round of playoffs and stand at (4-3).
