Nelsonville Woman Sentence in Connection to Death of Local Photographer

A woman from Nelsonville has received a 90-day suspended jail sentence in connection with the death of Chillicothe's Victoria Schafer at Hocking Hills State Park.

Miranda Spencer, 20, pleaded guilty to obstructing official business in the case.

Spencer is reported to have never notified police that she was with Jaden Churchheus and Jordan Buckley when the two teens pushed a log off a cliff at Hocking Hills State Park in 2019. Chillicothe photographer Victoria Schafer had been standing below at the time, and was killed almost instantly.

Churchheus and Buckley have pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
