Budding Ross County Author Prepares for the Release of Her First Book

A budding author from Ross County's Kingston area is preparing for the release of her first book.

Amber Ginter is a 2014 graduate of Zane Trace High School, and a 2019 graduate of Ohio Christian University. She currently teaches English at Unioto High School in addition to free-lancing for multiple online faith-based and secular publications.

She says this book is about her spiritual journey, her trials and tribulations, and the bouts of anxiety and depression experienced throughout her life.

“It’s a memoir,” said Ginter. It’s basically my life story, the different struggles and different things I had to go through while growing up. The title is currently ‘The Story I’ve Never Told’, but it’s currently in the publishing process so that’s still being worked out.”

Inspired by a love for reading and her devotion to faith, Amber says she's aspired to write her own since the age of fourteen.

“I’ve always wanted to be an author and last year during COVID, I got inspired to write,” said Ginter. “I kept praying about what God wanted me to write about, and God said this is what I want you to write about.”

Amber has a couple of publishing offers on the table for her book but hasn’t yet selected which one to go with. Without a selected publisher, a date for the book’s release has yet to be determined.

She says once the book is available, she hopes it will serve as an inspiration to others.

“I’m not famous,” said Ginter. “But I would just encourage people that even if you’re not a Christian, I think you could get something from this book regardless if you’re struggling with mental health or anxiety or depression, or if you’ve had family members that have gone through it.”

Amber says she does have a website, amberginter.com, where folks can check for updates and a pre-order option once a release date has been set.
