Registration is now open for the annual downtown scarecrow contest in Chillicothe.
The annual contest encourages downtown shops and offices to place a decorated scarecrow in front of their establishment to celebrate the fall season and spruce up the downtown area.
Those who would like to participate can pick up a registration form at the Chamber, located at 45 E. Main Street. There's an entry fee of $10 per scarecrow.
Registration wraps up on Friday, October 1st with the scarecrows to be displayed from late September through the end of October.
Community members will be able to vote for their favorite scarecrow via the Discover Downtown Chillicothe facebook page. The winners will be announced on Friday, October 29th.
