Ross County Man Tries to Escape Task Force in Jeep

On Thursday, Ross County Sheriffs Deputies, working with the US Marshals' Task Force, took a man into custody wanted on a warrant for felony domestic abuse.

Deputies and members of the task force went to a residence 7545 State Route 28 to serve the warrant on 34-year-old Chase Daughtery.

He tried to evade capture by escaping in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, first by driving backwards at a reported high rate of speed on a gravel driveway, then by driving through a number of adjoining residences' yards.

Daughtery then drove the Jeep through a fence and into an adjacent woodline, crashing the Jeep into trees.

Daughtery was taken from the vehicle and placed into custody, and was taken to the Ross County Jail.
