Ross County 911 System to Undergo Upgrade on Tuesday, June 13

The Ross County 911 Emergency Phone System will undergo an upgrade during the early morning this Tuesday, June 13th.

Major Mike Preston of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office said Monday, June 12th, that while the upgrade is being performed 911 calls will be routed to another number at the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.

All 911 calls originating in the city of Chillicothe will be routed to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, and then transferred to the Chillicothe Police Department.

Major Preston says Ross County residents that experience problems with the 911 Emergency Line while the upgrade is underway should dial the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 740-773-1185. Chillicothe residents that experience problems with the 911 Emergency Line should call the Chillicothe Police non-emergency line at 740-773-1191.

The upgrade to the 911 Emergency Phone System is expected to be completed by the close of day on Tuesday, June 13th.
