Westfall's Lady Mustangs not only defended their SVC Softball Championship from last year, but went one better, finishing with a unblemished (14-0) conference record.
Westfall finished the task with a 9-2 win over Unioto on the Lady Mustangs "senior night". A feat that was a goal at the beginning of the season, according to Coach Fred Redman.
The scarlet and gray exploded with five runs in the first inning, then followed with two runs in the second and one in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Senior Emily Robinson, gained the win on the mound.
The SVC Gold Softball is the second for Westfall, since the conference adopted the "double-round" play in 1989. The Lady Mustangs have six SVC softball crowns in school history, winning four of the last five seasons.
