A Marion County man is facing charges following a traffic stop in Chillicothe, Wednesday.
According to a Chillicothe Police report, while on patrol around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, a CPD officer spotted a white Pontiac with Scioto County plates traveling south along N. Hickory St.
Suspicious behavior by the driver prompted the officer to run a check on the vehicle, which came back as reported stolen from Portsmouth.
The driver of the vehicle, James E. Lampkin, 35, of Marion, informed the officer he had borrowed the vehicle from a friend but could provide no information as to the friend's identity. A search of the car revealed drug paraphernalia associated with crack cocaine use.
Lampkin was transported to the Ross County Jail on charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was additionally booked on a warrant for a previous parole violation and a second warrant through the Portsmouth Police Department for Grand Theft Auto. Lampkin was also served a Secret Indictment for Trespassing and a Notice of Firearm Disability related to a previous case.
Lampkin is currently being held in the Ross County Jail without bond.
