The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal one vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, early Monday morning.
The crash occurred on State Route 159 (Bridge Street) near Stewart Road at approximately 1:29am. A pick-up truck driven by 31-year-old Matthew Novak of Bainbridge, was traveling southbound on Bridge Street when he struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
The pedestrian, 59-year-old Terry Roof of Chillicothe, was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Mr. Novak was uninjured.
Chillicothe Police, Chillicothe Fire Department and the Ross County Sherriff’s Office assisted on scene.
