AAA Urges Chat With Seniors On Driving Driving Future

There is some new data from AAA that suggests more families with senior drivers should be having conversations about eventually giving up their driving privileges.

It's a balancing act for families deciding when to have an aging parent or grandparent give up the keys for good. Triple-A's Kimberly Schwind says a recent study has shined a light on the topic. That study shows that older drivers are nearly always safer, but age-related conditions make them more likely to be hurt or killed in a crash

Schwind points out the right time to stop driving varies for everybody. She says research shows older drivers are hesitant to bring up the topic, and their families can make it easier by having a group conversation about giving up the keys for good.
