The Ohio State University suspends Football Coach Urban Meyer and Athletic Director Gene Smith. Meyer is suspended through September 2nd, plus for the first three games of the regular season. Gene Smith is suspended from August 31st through September 16th.
Both suspensions are without pay.
The university board of trustees released a statement saying in part, their handling of of this matter, meaning the Zach Smith investigation, "did not exhibit the kind of leadership and high standards that we expect of our athletic director, head coach, assistant coaches and all on the football staff"
