(24/7 News) -- A dispute over making Ohio farmers reduce the runoff of fertilizers which contribute to the polluting of Lake Erie is being cited as the reason for the firing of Ohio Agricultural Director David Daniels.
According to reports made public Monday, Daniels was removed from his position by the governor last Friday for his reluctance to implement an executive order calling for aggressive new action to curtail fertilizer runoff.
An Ohio Soil and Water Conversation Commission task force has scheduled a meeting for this Thursday to evaluate the governor's proposal.
Daniels, a native of Greenfield, previously served in the Ohio House and Ohio Senate.
