A Circleville man is facing drug and traffic charges after colliding with a Police Cruiser, Thursday.
According to the Circleville Police Department, K9 Officer Robert Morningstar was inside his parked patrol vehicle along South Pickaway Street, near Walnut Street, shortly before 6:00 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by a vehicle operated by Cody James Knight.
The collision was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol who found Knight to be in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. He was subsequently charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. He also faces charges of OVI, Failure to Control, Failure to Wear a Seat Belt.
Neither Knight, Officer Morningstar, or his K9 Harry were injured in the crash which remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
